


Since there was an issue with the size of the sprite, the first thing I did was create a new version of the idle animation but that was consistent with the smaller ratio that still retain the detail from lios design. I also went back and tried to colour match more of the colours, to keep consistency, which lead to these designs.
However after I finished the designs I still felt that there was something wrong with the designs. I wasn't happy with the look and it looked clunky within the game.
I spoke a lot with classmates about the designs and their impressions, and then went and watched a lot of videos about pixel art with character design. However, it wasn't until Molly asked me what character design I like did I find a reference that really stuck with me. I was trying so hard to make a detailed pixel art character that I had lost a lot of the charm and appeal of character design, so I used this video to inspire my newest design
