For this project, we have complete creative freedom to explore and to create what we want.
Adam has talked about wanting us to create games that have meaning and actually contribute something to the world and I agree with the sentiment. I don’t want to work on something I’m not passionate about for the rest of the year and I really don’t want to create a project that I feel isn't genuine.
The Beginning
I need to figure out what aspects of our culture and world I want to explore with my game.
We started off by doing mind maps to help us figure out what objects, events or people invoked specific feelings from us. It was a useful lecture and I understand why we did it but I felt aspects of it were very surface level and that wasn't what I wanted for my game, if I was going to create a game that invoked a feeling I wanted to flesh out and properly explore these feelings both the good and the bad and even the normal.
what makes me emotional?
what is an effective story?
what story do i want to tell?
